These photos are from my most recent project about senses. It's a lose project with no real direction the only requirements were to produce images based on one or all of the five senses. I chose the sense of sight, my first idea was of looking through different types of glasses with relevent scenes in the background relating to the type of glasses, eg. a pair of reading glasses looking through them and seeing a library however this idea was short lived as i then re-read the brief and realised that it was a studio based project. so i kept with the idea of glasses but decided instead of focussing on what you could see through the glasses, i reflected the aspect of sight and thought i would create statement images asking the question of what the viewer was looking at.

Publish Me..
This is a past project that i completed before Christmas. It was a graphics based project. the main focus was to create a magazine using Adobe Indesign. The software at first was very hard to use but was easy to get the hang of. I really enjoyed the process of seeing my photography in its final outcome rather than it just being a mounted image.
My main influences for my magazine where from the top end fashion magazines like ELLE and VOGUE..but i also wanted to put across my own style so i took influence from music and arty fashion magazines such as ‘ID magazine’ and ‘metropolis’ and ‘ripped and torn’. Based mine on a punk era so it’s very edgy and messy but still based on fashion.
During this project i learnt a lot about scanning, i created most of the titles and painted the ink splats and scanned them in then colour ranged the individual ink splats and put them on a transparent document on photoshop so it was easy to layer over the images to create a real urban style.
Snow...
Ok so it isn’t the most practical weather type, It Causes the weathermen to act like maniacs when they talk about it, it causes delays, it creates traffic chaos and it caused me to be stuck in my very boring village where i live annnnd well it’s just cold but Despite the negative things about snow, there is something beautiful about it. The way it can transform a boring forest or a field to a magical winter-landscape so i decided to brave the cold and document the stuff.. Stupidly I had the white balance on the wrong setting and therefore the images came out a distorted blue colour instead of white,, so i de-saturated the images and messed around with the curve of each image. To create these highly contrasted images. Each one was taken at either a close perspective of at a high angle to try and give the image more depth. I was playing around with composition in my head and was testing and playing about with different depths of fields and dramatic angles etc. i took the images using my Nikon digital D5000.
